Motion simulators take VR immersion to a new level. Current devices are usually quite unwieldy and comparatively expensive. This should change with the Yaw VR change. The design of the device is compact and definitely looks interesting.
Ride a rollercoaster in your living room, rally around the tracks from home in a rally car - with fully simulated 360-degree movement: That's the promise of the Yaw Motion Simulator from Hungarian start-up Intellisense. The developers promise nothing less than one of the cheapest, lightest and quietest motion simulators.
Compact and powerful
The Yaw VR is designed to be compact, lightweight and easy to transport. According to the developers, the device can compete functionally with significantly more expensive devices: The simulator can rotate 360° on the vertical axis, while a 50° tilt is possible on the horizontal axis. The whole thing weighs around 15 kilos in total and can be practically packed away.
Yaw VR is an open source project that supports all common PC platforms. support. Yaw is compatible with SimTools software and more than 80 different simulator apps, including the best-known and most popular simulator brands. The manufacturer of the device, Intellisense, also plans to support other headsets such as Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR and PlayStation VR in the future.
Anyone who wants one of these not only has a choice of different colours, but can also have it completely customised, including their own logo. The cheapest version costs 1,190 dollars, the "Special Edition" version costs 1,390 dollars and the Pro 1,990 dollars.
