Afterlife: VR film influenced by looks

The three-part VR/360-degree film "Afterlife" will be released in the first quarter of 2019. The film is about a family that is shaken by a tragic event. As a viewer, you can influence the plot in a special way.

According to the official side: "After the tragic death of a loved one, a family struggles with the loss of their familial anchor and attempts to heal their worn ties. Experience the struggle through the ghostly eyes of the deceased, who cannot rest while the turmoil of his death keeps the family trapped in their grief."

"Afterlife" offers several storylines that are triggered by the direction of the viewer's gaze. Depending on where you look, a different video is played. According to the studio responsible Signal Space Lab there are 29 junctions, which makes more than 5,000 possible combinations.

A special film technique is used to link the individual videos without a noticeable transition. There are no loading sequences or interruptions so that the immersion is not disturbed. "Afterlife" will be available for Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, Gear VR, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR, among others. The first episode is free.
