With the new platform from Viond GmbH, interactive 360-degree/VR applications can be easily designed and published. This will enable this technology to become more widespread, especially among small and medium-sized companies and agencies that want to offer their customers VR services.
Although virtual reality is a popular marketing tool in theory, it has not really been able to establish itself in practice. This is primarily due to the fact that the realisation of virtual content is still associated with very high costs and a great deal of time. The new platform at least tries to solve the cost problem. Viond to get to grips with it. The Munich-based start-up sees itself as a VR authoring tool. With its help, creatives and companies can create interactive 360-degree experiences within a very short time without any special VR programming knowledge, the company promises.
360-degree and VR without programming knowledge
The Viond solution consists of the following components:
- Editor: With the Viond Editor, media content is linked to an interactive experience using drag-and-drop functionality and interactive elements and features.
- Player app: The young company also offers its own VR player that can be integrated into customer websites. Using the player app, the content is then published worldwide and can be played on all relevant VR platforms and VR-compatible smartphones.
360-degree/VR platforms such as Android, iOS, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Go or Google Cardboard are supported.
The start-up is backed by former ProSiebenSat.1 manager Rolf Illenberger.
