The Vive Studios are pleased that on the Raindance Film Festival in London, the title "7 Miracles" won the "Spirit of Raindance: VR Film of The Festival" award, while "Awake: Episode One" received the "Special Jury Mention in Best Interactive Narrative" award.
The Raindance Film Festival was the first public screening of 7 Miracles, a 7-part episodic film based on the story of the seven miracles of Jesus Christ. "In the nearly 30 years that I have been running Raindance, I have rarely seen a project combine inspiration and innovation in the way that 7 Miracles has. In the world of Raindance I was instantly blown away by Pulp Fiction (1994), Blair Witch Project (1999) and Memento (2001). 7 Miracles VR enables what these three seminal films have enabled for traditional 2D films. Great," says Elliot Grove, founder of the Raindance Film Festival.
Start VRs "Awake: Episode One" is, according to officials, "a sophisticated cinematic experience that combines interaction with immersive storytelling and advanced production techniques". "Awake" is a character-based, interactive VR series designed to blur the line between dreams and reality as you are drawn into the confusion around space, time and the human psyche. "Awake: Episode One" will be available from 15 November 2018 via Viveport
