The VR Studio Secret Location will film a short story by author Philip K. Dick for virtual reality. The story is "The Great C", which was published in 1953.
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by a computer that demands annual sacrifices from a nearby tribe. The VR adaptation focuses on a woman who must decide whether to rebel against these cruel traditions. Philip K. Dick wrote 118 short stories and 43 novels. He is considered one of the most important science fiction authors. Famous films such as "Blade Runner", "Total Recall" and "Minority Report" are based on his stories.
The approximately 30-minute long "The Great C" will make its debut on the international film festival in Venice (29 August to 8 September 2018). In addition to "The Great C", 39 other VR experiences will be presented there. The work will be presented at selected VR locations from September 2018. It will then be released on PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Ouclus Rift.
