Shipping companies are busy building cruise ships with new features: in future, it will be possible to explore virtual worlds on the "Spectrum of the Seas".
Now a cruise may also be an option for a younger target group: on the cruise ship "Spectrum of the Seas", passengers can immerse themselves in virtual worlds on a bungee trampoline. On the "Sky Pad", guests are strapped in under a large dome and travel into the future using a virtual reality headset, for example.
The entertainment programme also includes karaoke singing, bumper cars, skydiving and surfing simulators. The first ship in Royal Caribbean International's (RCI) new Quantum Ultra class also has an exclusive suite area with its own restaurant and lounge. The ship is being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg and is scheduled to start its first season from Shanghai in June 2019. Specially designed for Asian guests, it offers space for over 4,200 passengers.
