On 26 April 2018, a rather elaborate VR arcade experience will launch in the Californian city of Orange (near Los Angeles). The game in question is "Alien: Decent". And of course you will be confronted with the Xenomorphs.
This is what it's all about: As soldiers, the players have to investigate the distress call from a mining colony belonging to the Weyland-Yutani corporation. There they encounter the dangerous aliens, including the Facehuggers. Due to the wireless technology used by the Pure Imagination Studios no cables or backpack PCs are required. The VR headsets take care of the rendering.
There are no specific details on the technology used, but full-body detection and environmental effects are offered. You also go into battle with dummy weapons. The movement sensors are attached to the legs and arms, while heat, cold, humidity and moving platforms are simulated. On the official side reservations are accepted. A ticket costs 22 US dollars.
