Wargaming has released the "World of Tanks AR Experience" app for Android devices. The augmented reality app was developed in collaboration with Google using ARCore, the new AR technology from Google.
The "World of Tanks AR Experience" allows users to immerse themselves in tank battles on the go. In addition, the vehicles can be taken apart so that the core elements can be viewed in order to learn more about the historic vehicles. The app also offers the option of sharing photos and videos directly via social media channels.
The "World of Tanks AR Experience" was developed with the support of Gravity Jack and will be shown at the Google stand at GDC 2018 this week. It is also available free of charge worldwide in the Google Play Store with the exception of China, where it will be released in April 2018. The app is also available in the iOS App Store.
"We are very proud to be working with Google to share this unique AR experience with millions of users worldwide," said Matt Daly from Wargaming. "With the release of World of Tanks 1.0, we're taking our tank battles up a gear and the AR app lets our players see the game experience from a whole new perspective."
The "World of Tanks AR Experience" runs on the following devices: Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy Note8/S8+/S8/S7/S7 Edge, Asus Zenfone AR, LG V30/V30+ and OnePlus 5. The app is also available on the following iOS devices: iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6x Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8plus, iPhone X, iPad pro and iPad 5.
