Sony Interactive Entertainment, Playful and GameTrust have announced the Paris Games Week 2017 gave further impressions of the promising "Star Child", which will be released for PlayStation VR in 2018.
"Star Child" will be a cinematic platform adventure labelled. It's about Spectra and her companion who are on an important mission on an alien planet. "After they are shipwrecked, they discover a malevolent force that threatens to destroy everything. At a certain point in the game, Spectra gains the ability to gradually influence her surroundings and begins to fight back," the game says. According to the makers, "Star Child" was inspired by numerous sci-fi adventures in books and films. The new trailer gives an impression of this.
Paul Bettner, CEO of Playful, describes the VR game as follows: "In Star Child, we were drawn to the elegant simplicity of side-scrolling platformers. There is a subtle power in the ability to tell a story through ever-changing environments and cinematic visuals, especially in the way players can move Spectra and learn to master her powers. Supported by the magic of virtual reality, these elements take on a new dimension as Spectra's powers grow and she works her way deeper into the strange, immersive world full of dark secrets."
