The Dutch airline distributes virtual reality headsets to customers of other airlines in order to entice them away.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has taken pity on the poor low-cost passengers. So that they can enjoy a real flight, a KLM flight with everything that goes with it, the airline is now offering its "Flight Upgrader". The VR app, which is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, promises, among other things, a functioning entertainment system, unlimited and good catering, a caring crew and even a friendly seat neighbour. This means that customers of other fleets can also experience the royal Dutch luxury.
In the accompanying promo clip, the "Royal Airline" distributes VR headsets to low-cost passengers at a New York airport.
They will quickly forget the uncomfortable seat when they put on the cardboard headset with the witty inscription "Do not disturb - Pretending to fly KLM" and have the friendly seat neighbour wish them: "Enjoy your meal, my virtual friend."
If you weren't there at the time and still want a cardboard VR headset, you can here win one.
