The four-part VR mini-series "Dispatch" celebrated its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. In it, you are transported into the mind of a police officer who answers emergency calls at night.
Such police officers are called "Dispatcher" and they are the first people to learn of a disaster or a crime. The protagonist of "Dispatch" is Ted, who is facing the worst night shift of his life while his city is kept breathing by a series of crimes. According to director Edward Robles, they wanted to utilise the strengths of virtual reality to make the experience as dramatic as possible.
The first trailer shows the unusual design of "Dispatch", in which the protagonist Ted visualises what is happening on the other side of the line. The series is produced by the VR studio Here Be Dragons produced in cooperation with Oculus. "Dispatch" will be released in the Oculus Store later this year, but a date has not yet been given.
