"Voltron"-Fans watch out! Digital Domain has announced "DreamWorks Voltron VR Chronicles", which will be released for PlayStation VR on 26 September 2017. The title is based on the current Netflix series.
The first episode, "Seeds of Corruption", will be released on 26 September 2017: "When Lance discovers the remnants of an alien race lost deep in hostile space, he unleashes an unstoppable force that threatens to corrupt the Paladins' control over both their Lions and Voltron. Plunged into the heart of the adventure, you must overcome the corrupt force and relentless threat of Zarkon as you endeavour to unravel the ancient mystery and fight your way to victory." According to the developers, all the voice actors from the series have been engaged for the game, as "DreamWorks Voltron VR Chronicles" is intended to be as authentic as possible. At the same time, the graphics should also be reminiscent of the animated series.
Commenting on the gameplay, Jaime Benciam, Senior Creative Director at Digital Domain, said: "The use of VR technology allows for more dynamic storytelling and incredible in-your-face action sequences. The experience will also include moments of interactivity where the user is put in control of Lance's actions. These interactive moments include various highly engaging puzzles and thrilling missions in which the user controls the Blue Lion and battles Galra forces with a range of state-of-the-art weapon systems." A first trailer demonstrates quite well what to expect from "DreamWorks Voltron VR Chronicles".
