Ninja Warrior Germany: The VR game for the show

While "Ninja Warrior Germany - Die stärkste Show Deutschlands" once again sees numerous candidates push themselves to their limits, viewers can become fighters themselves from home with the new "Ninja Warrior Germany" VR game.

With more shows, new, more challenging obstacles and highly motivated athletes, "Ninja Warrior Germany" kicked off its second season on Saturday 12 August. Overcoming the obstacles requires strength, speed, endurance and grip strength. If an athlete makes just one mistake and fails an obstacle, they are out.

Facing the virtual obstacle course

Five levels with different levels of difficulty await fans of the show in the virtual reality experience. Players can run through four obstacles from the show's original course and put their skills to the test - from the starting obstacle "Five Jump" to the "Hanging Rings" and the "Balance Bridges" to the more than 7 metre high "Chimney".

Users can choose whether to play in VR mode with VR goggles, in full-screen mode without VR goggles or directly on the smartphone screen. Whether jumping, hanging or balancing - all movements are controlled with the gaze, the so-called gaze point, which is displayed in the centre of the screen. This allows the individual obstacles to be aimed at and overcome. It therefore takes skill and concentration with a good focus to master the challenging obstacles. The same rules apply in the game as in the show - and if you make a mistake, you fall into the water.

Compared to the TV athletes, however, you have an advantage with the app: while they only have one chance to pass the sports course, VR users can train diligently. If you fail at an obstacle, you simply try again.

Spectacular 360° clips in the VR video lounge

Another highlight of the app will be the virtual video lounge, where users can watch the highlights of the current show and exclusive 360-degree videos of the runs directly from the studio.

The free app can be downloaded from the following links: Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Samsung Oculus Store
