The Shardalso known as the Shard London Bridge, is a skyscraper in London's Southwark district that, at 310 metres, was the tallest building in Europe from July to October 2012 and is still currently the tallest building in the EU.
Tech Inside had pimped the tourist attraction with a VR experience that was obviously hilarious. The application was unfortunately only accessible for a limited time, but since it looks extremely cool, we don't want to deprive you of it.
The visitors sit down on a kind of shell that moves. In VR, they were on a slide at a dizzying height and hurtled down the building on a track at about 100 km/h. Another application had the visitors balance on a board while in VR they felt as if they were on a scaffold on the building. Another application had the visitors balance on a narrow board, while in VR they had the feeling of being on a scaffold on top of The Shard.
Those who wanted to try out the wild roller coaster or the Plank application certainly didn't need a fear of heights - if only to get to the Skydeck, where the application can be found until 4 August - and then strong nerves for the speedy ride or the tightrope walk. It is to be hoped that the experiment will be taken further.
