Studios are increasingly presenting VR experiences for their cinema films. Think, for example, of "Life", "Mission Impossible", "Alien Covenant" and many more that we have already reported on. Now the cinema chain IMAX and Warner Bros. have signed a cooperation agreement. announcedto bring the two comic film adaptations of "Justice League" and "Aquaman" to virtual reality. A third VR experience for the "DC Extended Universe" is also planned, but nothing has been said about this yet. One VR experience is to be released per year, starting with "Justice League".
The VR experiences for "Justice League" and "Aquaman" will initially be available exclusively in IMAX virtual reality cinemas. After that, other VR platforms will be supplied, so you can also bring the superheroes into your own home. The first IMAX VR centre opened in Los Angeles in January 2017. Viewers are given a VR headset and experience 360-degree sound and roomscale VR. Further VR cinemas will soon be opening in New York, the UK and Shanghai.
