An improved Second Life returns with Sansar

The developers at Linden Lab send their Second Life project will soon enter its second round - this time in virtual reality. The project, called Sansar, has been announced for the first half of 2017. The alpha version has been running since 2015, and various creatives and VR enthusiasts have had access to it. Other interested parties can apply for beta access apply.

Insight of a blogger

So the project is not yet open to the public. But the Blogger Ben Lang was allowed to take a look around Sansar on a guided tour and report on it. According to him, the graphics are already relatively good. This was always chalked up to Second Life. And through the development of the platform, it should also improve continuously.

No limits - great potential for marketing

The virtual world of Sansar is not to be created by individual development studios, but by the community of users. Linden Lab wants to reach creatives who want to create themselves and market to consumers. That is why there are no limits. Creatives are allowed to really let off steam and do not have to subordinate themselves to any design rules as in Second Life.

Users can surf through different virtual worlds. In addition to enjoying fantastic impressions, they should of course also make purchases. The developers of the worlds should be able to earn money in various ways. The sale of 3D objects, entrance fees for special VR experiences or the use of objects against payment, such as a pool table, are being considered.

And once again we see that there seem to be no limits in virtual reality. We are curious to see how the Sansar project does after Second Life was rather a flop.
