Notes on Blindness Film premiere on 16 January 2017

On Monday, 16 January 2017, a premiere will take place at We Are Cinema in Club Icon (in TAOs restaurant), Augustinerhof, 8001 Zurich. The award-winning virtual reality project "Notes on Blindness" will take the audience into the world behind the light with an hourly screening starting at 6pm.

For 45 minutes you can immerse yourself in the unknown, beautiful, terrifying, emotional, strange acoustic world of John Hull, who went blind in 1983. The story is based on the diary with original tape recordings of the theology professor and writer, who documented the increasing loss of sight and the associated blindness for better processing.

Sentences like: "For me, it is most beautiful when it rains, because then I "see" everything. On the other hand, it's terrible when it's snowing - because then everything is dull and you can't guess where which objects are.", are fascinating and suggest how blind people perceive our world.

Notes on Blindness consists of a documentary film and a virtual reality film. During the screening, the audience must become active themselves, because Notes on Blindness is an interactive virtual reality project. And it is already certain that the project will activate reflection and discussion. We will report on the premiere.

Tickets can be purchased now from We Are Cinema.

And here's a little taste of the story.
