At yesterday's Windows 10 event in New York, it was also announced that Microsoft will now support VR after all. This will be part of the next "Windows 10 Creators" update in spring 2017, but this does not mean that Microsoft will produce VR glasses itself. Instead, they have entered into a collaboration with third-party manufacturers. Partners such as HP, Asus, Lenovo, Acer or Dell will bring Windows 10 compatible VR glasses to the market. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about the performance of these glasses. Only the price is said to be $299. This would also be far below the price of PlayStation VR.
I don't think you can expect too much from this hardware. But it will certainly help the further spread of VR. We are looking forward to the further details, which will certainly be announced soon.
