The first glimpses of Minecraft VR for Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch controllers, have been made available for this year's Minecon event. At Minecon it was already revealed that Minecraft will support the Oculus Touch motion controllers and there was a first video showing a sneak peek of Minecraft VR during a panel discussion with Oculus CTO John Carmack.
The video is only a few seconds long, and you can see, for example, how a sword is swung or an interesting, one-handed bow and arrow shooting technique is used. This may seem familiar to some, as an unofficial mod called Vivecraft announced for the HTC Vive, which supports room-scale and motion controllers (including the Touch).
Oculus Rift support is already included from the official Windows 10 beta version of Minecraft and Touch support will be available from 18 October. This fuels speculation that we will soon know both an official price and a retail launch date for the motion controller.
