The Ringier media company has launched its flagship Blick launches a VR appin which self-produced 360-degree videos can be viewed. To give as many users as possible the opportunity to enjoy the videos, 33,000 free VR cardboards will be distributed at Basel, Bern, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich railway stations as part of a direct marketing campaign.
The app is available for Iphone or Android smartphones and provides close-up insights into the flying skills of the Patrouille Suisse or the mountaineers of an Eiger rope team.
As VR-Room has learnt, this is the starting point of a major virtual reality offensive planned in collaboration with Google and Samsung to make the media company fit for the future.
