Sci-fi horror game The Persistence to be released in summer

Developer Firespite has announced that roguelike sci-fi horror game The Persistence, which technically makes a pretty good impression, will be released for PlayStation VR on 24 July 2018.

As a player, you take on the role of a crew member who awakens from cryosleep. The task is to get the engines going again and escape the mutants alive. The spaceship is procedurally generated, which promises a lot of variety. Every time you die, you have to adjust to the changes. And why are there so many mutants? A black hole sucks in the colony ship "Persistence", which is why the clone generator goes crazy and spits out terribly mutated copies of former shipmates.

To whom the term "Roguelike" will know that "The Persistence" will not be an easy game. "The Persistence is a roguelike, which means you will probably die a lot. You play as security officer Zimri Eder. Well, you're not really playing her, because with each death you start the next playthrough as a fresh clone who has the same memories and personality. And each time you restart, you also have the option to re-roll her DNA to make even better, stronger clones in the future," says game director Stuart Tilley.
