Prey gets first VR content

The Sci-Fi Shooter "Prey"which is available for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, will be expanded with VR content. The start will be made as early as next week via an update.

Those who own the "Mooncrash" expansion or the "Digital Deluxe Edition" of "Prey" will be provided with the "Typhon Hunter" update on 11 December 2018. This includes "TranStar VR", a VR-exclusive single-player campaign in Escape Room style. "TranStar VR" will work with PC VR headsets and PlayStation VR.

Regarding "TranStar VR", it is said: "Players take on the roles of various TranStar employees to complete various tasks and solve elaborate puzzles on the Talos I a few days before the events of Prey." The VR portion also provides access to the expanded TranStar Museum, which is modelled on the museum in the Talos I lobby. Here you can take a close look at the game's most important elements. There is also an interactive tour where you can learn all about the history of TranStar and the Talos I.

The update also includes the "Typhon Hunter" mode. However, this will only be made compatible with VR at the beginning of 2019. Here's what it's about: "A player in the role of Morgan Yu is pursued by five enemies hiding as mimics in the form of various objects before they overpower their prey. Morgan must find and destroy all five Mimics before time runs out." More details on the theme are available at the official side available.
