Torsten Fell: The interest in the VRDAYS was positively critical

Torsten Fell, expert in new learning technologies (ENLT) showed at his workshops during the VRDAYS how versatile VR can be as a learning tool and that the new technology can even be found in sport. We wanted to know what he thought of VRDAYS.

How were the VRDays for you?

The VRDays have been a positive experience for me in the VR/AR events environment in recent weeks. I was at Zukunft Personal and DIGILITY in September. I also gave workshops and lectures on VR/AR myself. I liked the mixture of VRDays, Expo, live performance on stage and the workshops.

What was the benefit for you as a company or personally?

I got to know a few providers in Switzerland and was able to expand my network. I was also able to make some contacts from the two workshops I organised on "Immersive Learning" and "VR in Sport". I also found the networking with the other workshop organisers to be valuable.

Which visitors did you enjoy the most?

It was a colourful mix of visitors, private individuals, universities/schools and companies. I really enjoyed the mix.

How did the visitors react to your presentation?

After both workshops "Immersive Learning - www.immersivelearning.news" on Saturday and "VR in Sport" on Sunday, some workshop participants came and questioned the aspects presented and discussed them with me. In general, both workshops were fully booked and the interest was positively critical.

Did you also visit the attractions and if so, what did you particularly like?

I was able to visit every stand and get an idea of the possibilities on display. I generally like it when I can experience the examples myself and get my own impression of the possibilities. As I myself am naturally very interested in learning with and in VR/AR, I was interested in these topics. However, this was rather limited. I am hoping for more in this area next year.

Is there also criticism?

I would like to see even more exhibitors and visitors, especially the workshops could be combined with themed areas. But I thought it was a really good start.

What surprised you in particular?

The great interest in the workshops and the number of visitors.

Who would you recommend VRDAYS Zurich to?

For all those who have no connection to VR/AR and want to try out what is possible. This can be experienced for yourself at VRDAYS in a wide variety of experiences. But also those who want to delve deeper into certain topics and experience in the workshops how the topics are implemented and what needs to be considered here.
