VR gaming headset Oculus Quest presented

At Oculus Connect 5, the self-sufficient VR headset Oculus Quest which is primarily intended for VR gaming. So it has more power than Oculus Go. In any case, Oculus Quest does not need a PC or console, there are no annoying cables and there are no external sensors either.

Oculus Quest will be launched in spring 2019 and will cost from 399 US dollars (64 GB). The games are controlled via two touch controllers. Over 50 games will be available on release. Titles such as "Robo Recall", "The Climb" and "Moss" are also in development. So it looks like there will be enough material to keep things interesting.

Oculus promises a groundbreaking technology called "Oculus Insight": "This innovative system uses four ultra-wide-angle sensors and computer vision algorithms to track your exact position in real time without external sensors. Insight gives a stronger sense of immersion, presence and mobility and the ability to go beyond the size of the room. With Guardian, it is possible to move around the VR space more safely. The system is easy to set up and experience."

According to the manufacturer, Oculus Quest contains the same "first-class" optics as Oculus Go with a screen resolution of 1600 x 1440 pixels per eye and lens distance adjustment. The in-built speakers have also been improved, so that you can experience deeper bass, for example.
