Premiere: Professional VR headset with gesture control

VRginers has set its sights on professionals with the XTAL VR goggles. As the first VR headset worldwide, the new VR glasses are equipped with Leap Motion gesture control. Voice control functions are also available. In addition, the futuristically styled headset automatically adjusts the optimal eye distance.

VRgineers Inc. a virtual reality engineering company and manufacturer of professional VR headsets, presents XTAL, its new VR headset for professional use of virtual reality environments.

The new headsets are therefore particularly suitable for virtual design, creation, the development of prototypes and for use in training and simulation. The platform solutions from VRgineers are aimed in particular at companies in the automotive industry, architecture, industrial design as well as for training and simulation.

AutoEye technology ensures correct eye relief

The VR goggles XTAL offer not only enormous image sharpness but also a whole range of forward-looking features and technologies. As the only headset worldwide, it ensures that the interpupillary distance is always correctly adjusted.

It is also the first headset in the world to have an integrated Leap Motion sensor. Hand tracking allows the user to interact easily and intuitively in virtual environments without additional technologies. A microphone built into the headset and voice recognition software allow voice commands in the virtual world. This facilitates working directly in virtual environments.

"Last year, we spent a lot of time talking to a wide range of industries to find out what difficulties users have with professional virtual reality applications," explains Marek Polcak, Managing Director at VRgineers. "Subsequently, we invested all our energy into meeting these various wishes and requirements with next-generation VR goggles. We firmly believe that XTAL will be an important tool for product development, design as well as in simulation and training processes. With our glasses you can work very precisely and intuitively while saving resources, money and time."

The weight of the headsets is also always an issue and here too there is a solution: the weight has been reduced by twelve percent compared to the VRHero. Thanks to the slimmer and more compact frame and a face cushion made of genuine leather, users can now wear the glasses comfortably for longer periods of time.

The crystal among headsets

"XTAL is a shorthand for 'Crystal'," explains Martin Holecko, one of the co-founders of VRgineers. "The product name stands for both the new, crystal-like polygonal structures of the headset and our unconditional enthusiasm for crystal-clear image quality in VR environments. Furthermore, it also alludes to our company's home country, the Czech Republic, and its traditional and well-known Bohemian glass and glass craftsmanship."
