VR manga called Tales of Wedding Rings

The "Final Fantasy" creators at Square Enix have published a genuine VR manga with "Tales of Wedding Rings VR". This is the first chapter of "Project Hikari", an initiative of the Square Enix Advanced Technology Division. The goal is to revolutionise traditional manga with the power of virtual reality.

"Tales of Wedding Rings VR" is based on the manga by the Japanese artist duo "Maybe". In the story, the schoolboy Satou enters a strange world with his neighbour Hime. There, Hime becomes a princess and Satou marries her. However, in order to defeat the evil Abyss King, Satou must marry four more princesses. The genre is described as "Romantic Comedy".

Moving comic panels, 3D sequences and voice acting are offered. As a result, "Tales of Wedding Rings VR" is supposed to offer an experience that goes far beyond traditional manga. Square Enix uses a technology called "Live Window View", which enables different viewing angles and dynamic animations within the plot.

"Tales of Wedding Rings VR" is available for Oculus Rift available, whereby the touch controllers are required. The English and Japanese languages are supported. A conversion for HTC Vive will appear at a later date.
