World VR Forum 2018

The third edition of the World VR Forum (WVRF) has been taking place in Crans-Montana since 7 June. This year's theme is "Being Together". Until 10

"In the 21st century, social inequality has reached an all-time high. We rely more on technology than on each other. This June, together in Crans-Montana, we will reshape our future without social anarchy!" reads the introduction to the event from the organisers. This year's motto is accordingly: "Being Together"

New location with exciting content

This year's World VR Forum takes place at the "Cry d'Er Club d'Altitude", which is located in Carns-Montana at an altitude of 2,220 metres and offers a unique panorama and a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Valais Alps. For four days, the site will be home to fascinating artistic installations and serve as a large VR and AR playground.

However, there will not only be games, but also professional discussions. The event offers start-ups in particular a good opportunity to make valuable contacts.

The 2018 WVRF programme consists of the artistic direction of the World VR Forum in collaboration with the WVRF18 conference chair - Bruce Wooden, founder of AltSpaceVR - a social VR application in California that was acquired by Microsoft in 2017.

Canada as host country

After China was selected as the host country in 2017, the choice fell on Canada, where interest in VR has risen sharply in recent years, according to a press release. Collaboration with other countries thus brings various experts to Switzerland, shows Switzerland from its innovative side and also helps to position the participating Swiss companies abroad. The WVRF 2017 was extremely exciting. Anyone unable to attend this exciting event this year can still watch all the debates afterwards, which will once again be broadcast live on the YouTube channel. There will also be a 1200m2 exhibition at the Market Place with various national and international exhibitors from the VR and AR sector.

Tickets can be purchased via the Website can be ordered. The World VR Forum runs until Sunday.
