Better tracking system for PSVR being researched

When it comes to capturing movements in space, PlayStation VR has the disadvantage compared to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift that only one camera is used. This could change at some point.

One Job advertisement suggests that Sony is working on a tracking system that consists of more than one camera or sensor, as is already the case with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The applicant is said to be working on tracking systems for a VR project that process data from multiple sensors.

It can therefore be assumed that Sony is researching improved tracking technology, but whether and when PlayStation VR will be improved accordingly is completely unclear. Back in summer 2016, a Sony patent was discovered that describes a tracking system reminiscent of HTC Vive. Sony has also mentioned several times that it wants to develop PlayStation VR further.
