Digital Reality Academy: Deutsche Messe and Volkswagen launch XR permanent exhibition

The Deutsche Messe Technology Academy has founded the Digital Reality Academy in cooperation with the Volkswagen Group Academy and will be presenting live systems and applications from the fields of virtual reality and augmented reality all year round. In future, companies will be able to experience VR and AR all year round at the exhibition centre in Hanover using practical examples.

The Volkswagen Group Academy and the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy sare jointly presenting the "Digital Reality Academy", an XR learning centre for companies at the exhibition grounds in Hanover.

In terms of content, the focus is on new production processes, VR training and digital collaboration. The project is supported by numerous other partners and software companies in particular. An overview of the exhibits at the start of the exhibition can be found in the video.

"We want to facilitate a more intensive exchange between suppliers and users of these key technologies for the optimisation of production processes," says Thomas Rilke, Managing Director of the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy.

According to Volkswagen, it has been using VR and AR for many years in technical development, factory planning, dealer communication, training and production. This expertise will benefit the exhibition.

The new academy complements the Robotation Academy and the Additive Manufacturing Academy, where users can familiarise themselves with new technologies from the fields of automation, Industry 4.0 and 3D printing and experience them live.
