Borderlands 2 VR released for PSVR

2K Games and Gearbox Software have released "Borderlands 2 VR" for PlayStation VR. This is the implementation of the well-known and successful action role-playing game "Borderlands 2", which was first released in September 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

To get you in the mood for the release, 2K Games and Gearbox Software are showing a matching Launch trailer. "Borderlands 2 VR" aims to breathe life into the sci-fi world of Pandora like never before. As with the Original you get to grab 87 bazillion weapons and face the charming as well as psychopathic dictator Handsome Jack to free Pandora from the corrupt Hyperion Corporation.

Features of Borderlands 2 VR on PSVR:

  • Virtual steps on PandoraSlip into the boots of a treasure-hunting chamber hunter, armed with 87 bazillion weapons and tasked with filling your pockets with loot and freeing Pandora from the clutches of Handsome Jack. Knock down bandits by aiming like the real thing, really punch Bullymongs in the face, find the perfect weapon inside a life-size treasure chest and inspect your weapons from every angle. Grab a vehicle in Catch-A-Ride, race across Pandora in first-person perspective and experience the thrill of a psycho running at you with a grenade in hand, yelling "Boom time!".
  • Virtual slow motion: Borderlands 2 VR includes a new feature unique to the VR experience to aid the Chamber Hunters in their fight against Handsome Jack: Bad-Ass Mega Fun Time (BAMF Time for short). Players can use this new slow-motion ability to fend off nearby enemies and literally slow down time in the game temporarily in preparation for their next attack. In addition, the teleport option allows players to glide across Pandora with Claptrap's elegance (if you can call him elegant).
  • Become a virtual chamber hunter: Take on the role of one of four playable classes - Siren, Commando, Gunzerker and Assassin - each with unique fighting styles and updated skills to take advantage of VR functionality, including the new BAMF Time ability. Whether crushing enemies with Maya's Siren powers, summoning his Sabre gun to the rescue as Axton, lugging around a machine gun in each hand as Salvador or ramming a sword into an enemy's back as Zer0, Borderlands 2 VR lets players immerse themselves like never before.
  • Experience the virtual improvements: For the first time ever, players can experience the grandiose high of racing around Pandora in a first-person perspective - while accelerating and steering with the controller, they can aim the vehicle's weapons with the headset. Using the motion controllers and headset, players can interact with the menu systems in a way that is new and intuitive on this platform as they comfortably navigate through the menus by pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping. Players can also choose their preferred method of movement. Whether it's the targeted teleportation popular in VR or the classic direct movement via controller, the experience should feel good for VR and unadulterated as in classic Borderlands.
  • Virtual wealth: Borderlands VR brings the shooter-looter mechanic to virtual reality, with a bazillion procedurally created weapons that all have individual strengths and modifiers. Procedurally created shields, grenades, relics, class mods and more round out the Chamber Hunter arsenal for maximum power and carnage!
