WDR shows VR mine

WDR (German TV station) has made available an exciting VR project called "Glück auf". In it, you can experience a mine in VR. The mine will be closed and thus virtual access will still be possible.

WDR writes: "At the end of 2018, North Rhine-Westphalia's last coal mines will close. An era that has shaped the state economically and socially is coming to an end. Even after the last colliery has closed, you can experience the impressive underground world with your own eyes: in our Virtual Mine."

The WDR team has documented the mine in various 360-degree videos and two interactive VR experiences. Of course, you also get a lot of information in the process. The VR mine may be visited directly via the browser and the appropriate Website be explored. Virtual reality glasses are automatically supported in the browser. This works with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Access to the virtual mine is also available in the free Realities app at Steam.
