Electronauts: VR music game

Electronauts is more of a programme than a game. The developers from Raw Data and Sprint Vector turn the players into DJs.

Electronauts wants to serve both beginners and professionals. So anyone can be a DJ! Players can choose their favourite song from over 40 tracks by well-known artists such as The Chainsmokers, ODESZA, Steve Aoki, Tiesto and DJ Shadow and create their own remix with the help of the implemented Music Reality Engine.

The video above explains how this works. First, you choose a piece of music including vocals and then play around with the effects until the end result fulfils your wishes. Professionals can then try out the FX cube or add their own melodies on various virtual instruments.

On VR headsets for the PC, Electronauts even offers a multiplayer mode for up to two players that allows a co-operative jam session. This can even take place across platforms. Electronauts is also being released simultaneously with the home version in various VR arcades in 38 countries.

Electronauts has been available since yesterday at SteamThe game is available for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR in the Oculus Store and PlayStation Store. The versions for the PC VR glasses cost 19.99 dollars, while you pay two dollars less on Sony's VR headset.

For those who prefer to be on stage Riff VR to rock star status. You can also let off steam musically and physically with rhythm games such as Beat Saber.
