Suisse Toy invites you to the largest playroom in Switzerland

This weekend is playtime. Suisse Toy in Bern invites you to try out classic board games and virtual reality applications, among other things.

Until Sunday, Bern is the biggest playroom in Switzerland: tens of thousands of visitors are expected at the Suisse Toy fair, who will try out the digital but also the traditional.

A trend "back to the roots" can be observed in the toy industry, Renato Meier, member of the board of the Swiss Toy Association, told the news agency sda on Thursday on the sidelines of the fair. According to Meier, traditional items such as board games are booming. The more insecure the world is, the more a trend towards familiar and traditional things is noticeable among parents, Meier explained.

Another trend is clearly going in the direction of digitalisation. Interactivity is in demand. That is why the first Virtual Reality Centre in Switzerland (Dietlikon). In addition to their premium product, the "Fullbody" system, they also offer arcade games. In the VR centre, you dive into unknown worlds and experience adventures like Indiana Jones or fight your enemies. After this experience, I am convinced that many a Christmas wish list will include VR glasses.

Around 170 exhibitors are presenting their products at Suisse Toy until Sunday. However, the fair does not see itself purely as a sales fair, but above all as a playroom, as Adrian Erni, media spokesman for Bernexpo, emphasised.
