Google Inside Music creates a new music experience

Google Inside Music's new project lets users play with individual song elements and experience music in a new way.

What would it feel like if we could walk around in our favourite songs and take a closer look at how they were made? That's the idea behind Google's new interactive experiment Inside Music.

The project arose from a collaboration with the popular podcast Song Exploder and various artists from different genres: Phoenix, Perfume Genius, Natalia Lafourcade, Ibeyi, Alarm Will Sound and Clipping.

The experiment lets users experience music in a new way by showing spatially in VR how the different elements are put together. In this way, the different elements can be switched on or off and thus get to know the individual pieces of a song in a new way.

For Inside Music, the technology WebVR which allows you to try out the application in the browser without a VR headset. In addition, it is an open source programme, so people who want to create music can experiment.
