VR horror game The Persistence announced

With "The Persistence Sony and the developer Firesprite has announced a promising VR horror game from a first-person perspective. In the first trailer, "The Persistence" already makes a very good and detailed impression. Sid Shuman from Sony describes the plot as follows: "You play on board the Persistence, a research vessel sent to study a collapsing star. When an experiment triggers a catastrophe on board, the ship's computer tries to save the day by reconstructing the deceased crew members. Unfortunately, a serious error creeps into this process, turning the crew into babbling mutants." So we're dealing with a typical space horror, which of course doesn't have to be negative.

As the player, you take on the role of a crew member who awakens from cryosleep. The aim is to restart the engines and escape the mutants alive. The spaceship is procedurally generated: Every time you die, you wake up as a new character who has to make friends with a different ship layout. The makers promise that you will die often. Death is an integral part of the gameplay. The aim is to collect stem cells in order to improve the character after death (speed, life energy, etc.). Of course, there are also all kinds of weapons available to defend yourself with. A companion app will also be released for "The Persistence". Other players can use it to explore the ship's layout and recognise upcoming dangers. They can help or harm. "The Persistence" will be released for PlayStation VR, but no date has been set.
