On the other hand, there are cheaper solutions such as Samsung Gear VR or Google Daydream View. Here, smartphones are plugged into VR mounts. Oculus may want to offer a VR headset that lies somewhere in between.<\/p>\n<p>How <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-07-13\/facebook-said-to-plan-200-wireless-oculus-vr-headset-for-2018\">Bloomberg<\/a> berichtet, arbeiten Oculus und das Mutterunternehmen Facebook an einem kabellosen Standalone-VR-Headset, das kein Smartphone und keinen PC ben\u00f6tigt. Die Hardware ist direkt in der VR-Brille verbaut. Der Preis soll bei erschwinglichen 200 US-Dollar liegen und eine g\u00fcnstige Alternative zu den bisherigen High-End-VR-Headsets darstellen. Das Projekt l\u00e4uft unter dem Codenamen &#8222;Pacific&#8220; und soll ein \u00e4hnliches Design wie Oculus Rift vorweisen.<\/p>\n<p>The device is also supposed to be lighter than the Samsung Gear VR and extremely portable. A wireless control unit is also offered, it is said. The VR goggles are said to be suitable for gaming, movies and social networking. Oculus Rift will remain the top product, while the standalone VR headset is slated for release in 2018, the report said.
