People who wear glasses have a hard time with VR: optical and VR glasses get in each other's way when worn on top of each other, and without corrective glasses, the virtual experience suffers even more. If you move around too much, the VR glasses sometimes fog up very quickly.<\/p>\n
The only way out so far: contact lenses.<\/p>\n
The Stuttgart-based start-up VR Lens Lab offers glasses with a very narrow frame that are worn like sports glasses with a strap around the head. They fit under common VR headsets such as Oculus Rift CV1, HTC Vive or Samsung Gear VR.<\/p>\n
The frames of the glasses are narrower than those of conventional models and are available with or without ground lenses. Lenses can be fitted by your own optician on request. The \"VR Frames\" can also be used for sports where a helmet is required - such as snowboarding or paintballing.<\/p>\n
If VR Lens Lab supplies the spectacle frame including optics, the lenses can be equipped with a special coating called Bluegard VR, which is intended to provide protection against the blue light of digital screens in VR applications.<\/p>\n
In addition to the VR frames, the Stuttgart-based company also provides the headsets with directly ground lenses with the correct dioptre. The lenses can be inserted directly into the VR glasses with adapter rings in the shape of the corresponding headset and easily removed again. The Stuttgart-based company also offers customised products.<\/p>\n
VR Lens Lab is the result of a collaboration between VR Cover and Gauss Eyewear. Last year, the start-up was very successfully financed via Kickstarter.<\/p>\n
