Last week, we already spoke about the University Hospital of Zurich and their commitment to the fight for improved hygiene in hospitals. reports<\/a>. Another Swiss medical company uses VR for slightly different purposes.<\/p>\n

The Swiss Paraplegic Centre (SPC)<\/strong><\/a> is being modernised and expanded. To attract the necessary skilled workers, it relies on a cinema bus with wheelchair challenge and virtual reality.<\/p>\n

In the cinema bus, the visitor sits in a converted wheelchair, wears virtual reality glasses and sees the world through the eyes of a paraplegic. The wheelchair moves, the visitor drives and feels along: Suddenly everything is completely different. Nothing works any more. Paraplegic. Forever. And yet everything is just a hint of what paraplegics really experience.<\/p>\n

The main character in the film is Marcel. He has an accident on his mountain bike and has been paraplegic ever since. The story shows the most important stages - from the rescue by Rega to the stay in the SPC in Nottwil to the new everyday life of the family in Aarau. Marcel is played by our paraplegic employee Nicolas Hausammann, who is responsible for sports marketing in Wheelchair Sport Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The film was shot with a 360\u00b0 camera and looks particularly close with the VR glasses.<\/p>\n
