The Ricoh THETA S<\/a> and SC<\/a> are interesting and inexpensive 360 degree cameras. With a weight of 125 grams, a height of 13cm and a width of 4.4cm, this handy camera is a small marvel. It records 360 degree films with 2 folded lenses in 1080p. With the slightly more expensive SC version, live streaming in 360 degrees is also possible.<\/p>\n

Now it has also been announced that the latest PS4 media player supports playback of images from the RICOH THETA S\/SC. If owners of a THETA connect the camera to a PS4\u00ae in a certain way, they can display 360-degree images without having to use a computer and edit the images as before. This works as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Starts the Media Player application on the PS4 (PSVR headset switched on)<\/li>\n
  2. Switch off the THETA camera, press and hold the \"Wireless\" button and connect the camera to the PlayStation 4 via USB cable<\/li>\n
  3. Selects \"Ricoh Company, Ltd. RICOH THETA S\" on the display<\/li>\n
  4. Go to the options in the media player and activate \"VR Mode\"<\/li>\n
  5. Select the file you want to play<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    That is very convenient. We naturally hope that more 360 cameras will receive this support in the future.<\/p>\n
