The Coca Cola Christmas trucks have become icons since their first run in the winter of 1995. With a new Virtual Reality (VR) experience, they wowed the masses this year; even during the pandemic.<\/h3>\n

After their debut in 1995 with the Christmas truck, Coca-Cola took advantage of the popularity and status they had received and started touring parts of the world during the holiday season. So this year, of course, the truck stopped in Switzerland. When the trucks come to different places, they usually attract thousands of people. It is difficult to entertain all these people year after year, so the beverage company was looking for something new for this year. Something that could take the participants into the world of Coca Cola's Christmas.<\/p>\n

Coca Cola VR Experience<\/h3>\n

The solution was obvious: a Coca Cola Christmas VR experience where virtual reality and physical movement come together to create the ultimate Christmas experience. Cola fans used it to climb into the sleigh on the back of the truck, put on a VR headset and experience a journey through the winter wonderland.<\/p>\n

The experience takes visitors on a journey through Santa's birthplace, the North Pole. Santa's reindeer pull them across the Northern Lights, overlooking the beautiful winter landscape. The iconic winter trucks pass by below and Christmas trees light up as the sleigh passes by.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The virtual journey is taken to the next level with the help of a motion platform that moves on two axes to give the user the feeling of flying. This feeling is enhanced by blowing air into the user's faces .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It is a difficult process to make every participant experience the ride synchronously. For this, every component must be perfectly coordinated. The motion platform, the air machine and the headsets are connected to the same computer, which synchronises all the hardware together. This is done by sending timing signals so that the computer knows which component is where on the timeline and adjusts it accordingly.<\/p>\n
