As Facebook announced during the unveiling of Oculus Quest 2, sales of Oculus Rift S will be discontinued next year. At the same time, the focus will be on standalone headsets like the Quest 2.<\/p>\n

The statement says: \"We will focus on standalone VR headsets in the future. We will no longer focus solely on PC hardware and sales of Rift S will end in 2021, yet the Rift platform will not disappear. In fact, we've seen significant growth in PC VR through Oculus Link, and the Rift platform will continue to grow while delivering high-end PC VR experiences like Lone Echo 2 and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, well into the future.\"<\/p>\n

By the way, sales of the first Ouclus Quest will also stop: \"Sales of the original Quest will also end when we deliver Quest 2 to retailers worldwide. But this does not mean that we will no longer support the original Quest. We will continue to improve Quest by listening to the people who made it a success in the first place - players from the VR community. We'll be adding more new features and game experiences in the future, so stay tuned!\"<\/p>\n
