{"id":16988,"date":"2020-05-31T07:37:30","date_gmt":"2020-05-31T07:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vr-room.ch\/?p=16988"},"modified":"2020-05-22T07:51:04","modified_gmt":"2020-05-22T07:51:04","slug":"schweizer-ar-kunst-im-zustand-der-isolation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vr-room.ch\/en\/2020\/05\/31\/schweizer-ar-kunst-im-zustand-der-isolation\/","title":{"rendered":"Swiss AR Art: In a State of Isolation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 id=\"ins-internet-geht-die-ooe-landeskultur-gmbh-mit-einer-einzelausstellung-die-das-thema-corona-thematisiert-isolation-is-it-over-yet-des-schweizer-kuenstlers-andy-picci-ist-bis-28\">The Upper Austrian Landeskultur-GmbH is going online with a solo exhibition that focuses on the theme of Corona: \"iSOLATION. is it over yet?\" by Swiss artist Andy Picci is on display until 28 June 2020 in an augmented reality filter on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ooe.art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram (@ooe.art)<\/a> to see.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The young Swiss artist Andy Picci (born 1989) is currently presenting six works created during his 40-day self-isolation during the Lookdown, reflecting on how isolation affects people.<\/p>\n<p>The digital visitor moves through a white cube that seems to float in space. Two paths lead out of the isolation in the short term: the door and the laptop. A bright blue sky promises freedom that is only a few steps to the door and a few clicks on the laptop away. The laptop lies in the middle of the room on a bath towel. In times of Corona, everyday life and leisure, pressure and relaxation are close together.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"instagram-als-kuenstlerisches-medium\">Instagram as an artistic medium<\/h3>\n<p>A hand literally holds out the moon to the visitor. An all-seeing eye hovers high above the White Cube, tears fall to the ground and form a puddle. In times of Corona, we see more than usual how others live and what they share of themselves. These are emotional moments that lead to the question that hovers in the room as a text installation: Is it over already? Make life great again, is the answer. The perplexity in this exceptional situation leads to speechlessness and sentimentality in \"iSOLATION\". The artist creates images reminiscent of Ren\u00e9 Magritte and surrealism to show how unreal and alien the isolation within the familiar four walls is.<\/p>\n<p>Picci, who studied art, photography, visual communication, uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/andypicci\/?utm_source=ig_embed\">Instagram<\/a> as a medium and deals with self-expression, digital identity and the attention economy in social media. He uses augmented reality and face filters as a means to spread his message as an artist. On his Instagram account, Andy Picci provides numerous filters that demonstrate the artistic potential of augmented reality filters.
