Nevertheless, globetrotters and culture enthusiasts don't have to miss out on exploring new places entirely. Some tourist regions and museums enable virtual visits - via laptop, smartphone or tablet.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n

Corona has shut down almost everything. Nevertheless, culture enthusiasts and travellers don't have to completely miss out on exploring new places, sights or museums. All you need is a laptop, smartphone or tablet and an internet connection and you can immerse yourself in new worlds from the comfort of your sofa.<\/p>\n

Travelling the world from your sofa<\/h3>\n

In 2011, the internet giant Google launched the \"Arts & Culture\" service. The application offers a wide range of options: Stroll through the museum via Street View, take tours to the most important sights such as the Taj Mahal or enjoy the view from the Tokyo Tower. Or, as we recently reported, the Versaille Castle<\/a>. In addition, text contributions and explanations of the various works can be found. The application is free of charge and can be downloaded on the Google Play Store<\/a> or in the Apple App Store<\/a> can be downloaded. Also exciting is the already presented Wonders of the World<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Czech capital of Prague is also using technology to bring itself to life and has even created created its own website,<\/a> where you can explore a variety of sights and take virtual walks. However, there are also various tourist regions that you can immerse yourself in from the comfort of your couch. This also includes Vienna<\/a>with the most important sights such as Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace, the Vienna State Opera and the Capuchin Crypt, which can be explored on a virtual tour. The Belvedere Museum also invites visitors every day at 3.00 pm to Facebook for a live tour.<\/a><\/p>\n

But also Mona Lisa<\/a> can be viewed virtually, without hundreds of other visitors, as we have shown. On the virtual tour<\/a> through the Louvre Museum, there's no need to wait. The National Gallery in London is one of the most famous museums in the world. So that art enthusiasts don't have to miss out on a visit even in times of coronavirus, the Museum on the homepage,<\/a> to take a virtual tour. The tour was created in collaboration with Google and works in a similar way to Street View.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
