The central bank is advertising the design of the new means of payment with a pretty AR effect.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>How do you sell the design of banknotes effectively? The Bank of England seems to have found the answer in augmented reality (AR). The AR effect transforms the portrait of the famous English artist William Turner, which adorns the new \u00a320 note, into an animated version of his 1839 painting \"The Fighting Temeraire\", which shows the ship of the same name that was instrumental in the victory at the Battle of Trafalgar (1805).<\/p>\n<p>Snapchat and the corresponding AR lens are required for the AR effect. The central bank worked together with Snap's AR specialists for the digital banknote transformation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-divrecUnd\" data-rec-disable-observer=\"1\" data-rec-id=\"158280401604535\">\n<div id=\"rcfUndIframeBottomLine\" data-rec-disable-observer=\"1\">The \u00a320 note is said to be the Bank of England's most secure note to date. At that time, digital effects were added to the new \u00a35 note.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In 2015, HSBC, a bank founded in Hong Kong, introduced the HKD150 banknote and the accompanying AR app to mark its 150th anniversary, allowing users to experience scenes from Hong Kong over the past 150 years.
