Since Tuesday, there have been four bicycles there that cyclists can use to move around in virtual space.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"body_divText\" class=\"text\">\n<p>\"Virtual Reality Velo\" is the name of the new theme island that the accident insurer Suva, the<a href=\"https:\/\/vr-room.ch\/en\/2017\/11\/14\/zuercher-kinder-lernen-mit-vr-brille-velofahren\/\"> City of Zurich<\/a> and the Swiss Museum of Transport jointly presented on Tuesday in Lucerne. Thanks to the use of virtual reality glasses, cyclists should be able to practise anticipatory and thus safe riding.<\/p>\n<p>Four stationary bicycles are available. They are ridden with virtual reality goggles in front of the eyes. Suva, the City of Zurich and the Swiss Museum of Transport said that this allows the rider to experience a typical traffic situation. The focus is on potential dangers and anticipatory driving is practised.<\/p>\n<p>Suva's accident statistics record around 18,000 bicycle accidents every year. With anticipatory riding, dangerous situations can be defused in good time and accidents can be prevented, according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>The virtual reality goggles make it possible to convey the dangers of accidents without risk. The right behaviour can be tested in a safe environment, the statement says.
