The start-up YUR (\"<\/em>why you are\") <\/em>releases a new digital plug-in for use with VR apps. The virtual calorie counter YURfit is supposed to collect data during VR sports and games and show an overview of calories burned. The people responsible show how this works with the VR rhythm title Beat Saber.<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

YUR's virtual calorie counter runs in the background and analyses the tracking data generated by the movement of the motion controllers and the VR glasses. In this way, the app calculates the approximate calorie consumption when playing the VR titles. This is a similar principle that smartwatches use to count steps.<\/p>\n

In the future, a mobile app will also be made available to synchronise the data with other health apps, such as Apple Health for iOS, and thus coordinate the daily workout. For permanent use in VR experiences, developers would have to integrate the start-up's plug-in into their own VR titles.<\/p>\n

YURfit - Calorie consumption with Beat Saber<\/h3>\n

How the whole thing looks in practice is shown by the devs on the hit Beat Saber. <\/em>The rhythmic VR game is known for its high calorie consumption and athletic activity while playing. For example, the Virtual Reality Institute of Health and Exercises already showed that a game of musical block cutting is equivalent to the energy consumption of a game of tennis. And the personal success story of a young father proves how to can lose over 80 kilograms of weight during the VR workout with sabre swinging<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sports slackers should be motivated<\/h3>\n

Inspired by this story, Cix Liv and Dilan Shah founded the fitness start-up YUR. <\/em>Since many gamers are not even aware that top VR games are quite conducive to losing weight, they have developed the plug-in YURfit. The calorie consumption shown is intended to motivate sports muffleurs to move more and be active. And making this possible in a playful way is probably the best motivation, as Cix Liv describes: \"Gaming and fitness have always been my two biggest passions. Our software allows our users to combine both in a targeted way.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

The calorie counter is free as a mod available on the official website of the company<\/a>. The Mod Saber Installer is recommended for installation.<\/p>\n
