The spa has attracted more than 90,000 visitors. Slides <\/a>with VR glasses has been thrilling visitors since its launch in March. Now visitors can experience the Therme Erding<\/a> also get involved with a virtual reality snorkelling attraction with \"DIVR\".<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Impressive coral reefs where tropical schools of fish and jellyfish cavort, huge manta rays with a wingspan of several metres and families of whales whose song gives you goose bumps. In the largest thermal spa in the world, guests have an experience for all the senses with \"DIVR\" during a three-week test phase.<\/p>\n

\"DIVR\" takes visitors on an exciting voyage of discovery through a breathtaking underwater world. Past shipwrecks and through subterranean caves, guests swim together with colourful turtles, hammerhead sharks and gigantic whales to exotic places. Meanwhile, they listen to soothing ocean sounds. Here, visitors explore a world that could previously only be experienced at remote diving spots. Feeling free and weightless, losing the sense of space and time and getting to know an unknown environment that seems endless - that is \"DIVR\".<\/p>\n

How it works<\/h2>\n

Held by a swimming belt, guests float on the surface of the spacious outdoor pool while wearing a snorkel set with virtual reality function and music accompaniment. When submerged, the expedition unfolds its full effect: the VR goggles with 360\u00b0 all-round view let visitors feel the realm of the seas in its full glory.<\/p>\n

Franziska Schmid, assistant to the management of Wellenbad: \"Simply bathing is no longer enough for guests today. We want to create real experiences! With VR snorkelling, we enable visitors to completely escape from everyday life and let go completely.\"<\/p>\n

The patented system was developed by Ballast's VR professionals in cooperation with leading slide builder wiegand.maelzer.<\/p>\n

Spa guests can be among the first to try out VR snorkelling in the outdoor wave pool from Monday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm from Mon 3 Dec to Fri 21 Dec. Please register on the day of your visit at the info point in the wave pool. The 5-minute \"DIVR\" adventure is available to guests aged 6 and over and costs 5 euros per person. Limited number of participants: first come - first dive!<\/p>\n

Back in November, you could experience a virtual snorkelling trip at the German Nettesbad, as we reported<\/a>. Let's hope that the experience will soon be available somewhere in Switzerland. Maybe a nice letter to Christchindli will help!<\/p>\n
