In addition to AR applications, the topic of VR also includes 360\u00b0 productions. The rapid development of the new technology means that even smaller companies with small budgets can now provide a 360\u00b0 brand experience for their customers. This is shown by the reference project of Daniel Gm\u00fcr Fotografie: a virtual tour of a village drugstore. We have worked with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.danielgmuer.ch\">Daniel Gm\u00fcr Photography<\/a> conducted a short interview.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">How did you get into 360\u00b0 photography?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">I am very interested in the technical side of photography. Early on, I was intensively involved with time-lapse and extremely high-resolution (gigapixel) photos.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Both are very time and computer intensive. Gigapixel photos are composed of many images taken with a zoom lens, quasi a panorama.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">High-resolution 360\u00b0 images are also composed of many images taken with a wide-angle lens. This is also very time-consuming.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">I got interested in this topic and looked around to see what \"easy\" ways there are to create 360\u00b0 photos.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Thanks to rapid advances in camera technology, there are now handy cameras with multiple lenses that produce 360\u00b0 images directly.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">During my research I came across this<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCAjSHLRJcDfhDSu7WRpOu-w\"> YT Channel <\/a>encountered.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">As a result, I bought an MI Sphere, as it offers the best value for money for photos.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>What is the appeal of 360\u00b0 photography?<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">I find 360\u00b0 videos and gimmicks like \"Little Planet\" appealing.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">A 360\u00b0 video - for example of my band\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.craigh.ch\">Craigh\u00a0<\/a>- puts the viewer directly on the stage.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">I also want to use 360\u00b0 photos more in the business sector for virtual tours.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">You write on your homepage that you can offer the service very favourably compared to the competition. What is your secret?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">The speed! Shooting and editing the images takes about 10x less time than with SLR and special software.\u00a0<\/span>Of course, today's 360\u00b0 \"consumer\" cameras cannot compete with the quality of DSLRs.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">But I think that the enormously smaller effort and therefore smaller price will open up a new market segment.<br \/>\nVirtual tours for everyone - n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">ature in combination with \"conventional\", better quality photos from the SLR camera.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>So will you focus mainly on smaller companies? And if so, why?<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">Not necessarily, I am open to projects of any kind. But I think big companies are more likely to go for higher quality and have the budget for it.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">How did the project with the Wyss drugstore come about?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">Some vitamin B and the opportunity to explain to the management what is possible.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">How does the drugstore benefit from this virtual tour?<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">The virtual tour can now be found on Googel Maps. It is now effectively the digital shop window of the drugstore.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>How do you see the future development of 360\u00b0 photography?\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">I think that 360\u00b0 compact cameras will make great strides in the near future.
