From 2 to 5 February, the Stage-One Event Hall in Oerlikon hosted the Man's World<\/a> took place for the second time. Now we know what men are really interested in: Beard care, knives, beer and spirits, braces, barbecues, motorbikes, cars and games. Maybe a few things more or less. In any case, clich\u00e9s were presented on a silver platter wherever you looked.<\/p>\n

Simulators<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When it came to virtual reality, there were three interesting exhibitors at the trade fair. At Red Bull, for example, visitors were able to get behind the wheel of two simulators and drive a race. VR goggles were used on one of the simulators. And also at Flightbase<\/a> one could, like reports<\/a>climb into the F\/A 18 cockpit and enjoy a virtual flight with the fighter jet at supersonic speed through the Swiss Alps.<\/p>\n

Despite the rather high entrance fee, you still had to pay extra for both experiences. At least you didn't have to queue for ages and all the visitors who tried it left the stands with a big grin on their faces.<\/p>\n

Shooter Game<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you wanted to get a free impression of VR, you were welcome at PC Tip<\/a> Welcome. There was the opportunity to play the shooter with the HTC Vive SPACE PIRATE TRAINER<\/a>\u00a0where you had to defend yourself against constantly growing waves of robot droids. Some men behaved like little boys and clearly enjoyed playing together. As it was possible to follow how the end player was doing on a large screen, the buddies were able to give each other advice or laugh at each other. The feedback from visitors was overwhelmingly positive: pure adrenaline! Really cool! Just like the real thing!<\/p>\n

Simply nothing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

What remains a mystery to me is why Microsoft didn't address the topic at all. Even if they can't show the Hololens yet, it would have been exciting to present something to do with VR. The teaser on the Man's World Website<\/a> gave the impression that Microsoft had something to say (although they show a PS VR in the picture).
