A multiplayer augmented reality game \u00e0 la laser tagging that promises action!<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With games like\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hologridmonsterbattle.com\/\">HoloGrid: Monster Battle<\/a>\u00a0developer HappyGiant already has some experience in working with<a href=\"https:\/\/vr-world.com\/vr-virtual-reality-lexikon-a-bis-z\/#Augmented_Reality\">\u00a0<\/a>augmented reality. Now the studio will soon be launching a new game on the market that focuses on multiplayer action.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"quasar-arena-virtuelles-lasertag-im-park\">QuasAR Arena: Virtual laser tag in the park<\/h3>\n<p>What looks a bit silly to outsiders makes a lot more sense when viewed through the display of a smartphone: In QuasAR Arena, players face each other and shoot virtual laser beams at each other. The trailer gives us a taste of the unconventional spectacle.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"\"><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"QuasAR Arena Trailer\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bm1QE95rEXg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As we can see, two players hurl virtual projectiles at each other, dodge and block incoming attacks with energy shields. Initially, the title will be aimed at two players at a time, but the app will be expanded with a spectator mode and four-player support once it is released.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"kostenlos-fuer-ios-geraete\">Free of charge for iOS devices<\/h3>\n<p>The game is currently still in beta and will be available free of charge for iOS devices.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will appear. It is not yet known whether Android users will also be able to use their laser beams in public places around the world at some point.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"kuenstliche-intelligenz-verfahren-dank-partnerschaft-mit-jido-maps\">Artificial intelligence process thanks to partnership with Jido Maps<\/h3>\n<p>QuasAR Arena was developed in collaboration with Jido Maps. The company has developed a software development kit (SDK) that enables rapid synchronisation of two smartphones and uses machine vision to process the user's environment in real time.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jido Maps is not alone in this: platforms such as the one announced a few weeks ago\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vr-world.com\/niantic-real-world-ar-plattform-mit-multiplayer-features-vorgestellt\/\">Niantic Real World<\/a>\u00a0(known from Pok\u00e9mon Go) also rely on artificial intelligence to recognise the environment - an area in which companies such as Apple and Google are also conducting research with their ARKit and ARCore platforms.  However, with the latter, the environment must first be scanned and the data stored in the cloud before the AR experience can be started. Jido's system eliminates these steps and is therefore one step ahead.
